This hotel is a place to sleep. Period! Nothing above average. Friendly front desk associates. Common areas (stairwells) walls are splashed/ stained. Hallways have carpet stains and odors. Room was clean however, very dated. Quiet stay. But there is nothing extra special here. It’s a room……..to sleep in!

Jason at the front desk was amazing! We stayed from the 18-20th of November in the Kentucky derby suite and he went above and beyond for us. Anita was also super helpful too. Overall great experience and such nice people. I highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back, when we are kid free.. LOL! ❤️

The 4 of us booked 2 rooms to stay in on our way home from a vacation just over a week ago. The first clue about the place was the check-in process - they weren’t sure our rooms were ready and had to check. Then the clerk came down and said both rooms were very clean and ready. Then the elevator did not work. One of the employees said when you hold the button too long to hold the door open ‘this’ happens….we hadn’t even gotten on the elevator. Now we get to our rooms. I wanted a swim. There is one change room/toilet in the pool area, and it does not close. It is unusable. When I went to the lobby to ask if there any other ladies’ rooms on the first floor that I could use, as this change room was unusable, the employee said most people get changed in their rooms and come down. I asked what I was supposed to do if I needed to go to the bathroom…..the door doesn’t close. The employee just said it swells due to the humidity in the pool area! Well, I know THAT, but FIX it! You have a pool and there is no where to change or go to the bathroom. When we returned from eating out, the other couple turned down the bed to retire for the night and saw that the sheets had not been changed - hair everywhere. Upon checking the tub area for a shower it was noticed that this was not cleaned either! So the staff moved them to a ‘suite’. It was dirty, and when they checked for coffee mugs (there are coffee machines in the rooms) they found no dishes, cutlery, no mugs - just one bowl. In the morning, along with out bill, was a note from the manager not to do the survey guests receive and allow him to address any concerns. Obviously, reviews were negative. before. When we returned home, I emailed the manager, copied the other couple, and blind copied the Choice Hotels International. I did not receive the courtesy of a reply from the manager, to did I receive a survey from CHoice Hotels. We paid $147 for this dump (including tax). We asked for a refund! Last week, CHoice Hotels offered points which I declined, but said I’d accept a cheque when offered. I was told I’d receive an email and that I could reply with a copy of both invoices (mine, and the other couple). I did not receive an email. A couple of days ago I called Choice Hotels and was told that it was their i policy to allow the manager 48 hrs within which to reply to the complaint and they could only address my complaint, not the other couple. Different information from a week ago. I pointed out that it was well past 48 hrs, but the customer service rep said they were going to give him another 48 hrs. When I asked if hotels within the ‘Choice’ umbrella were at least inspected for standards, I was told they were all privately owned etc. - so no standard level could be expected. I have paid far less for seedy motels while on road trips, however, paid much less, and walked away. But in this case feel very ripped off. The people at this hotel/motel don’t care, don’t repair, don’t clean, and the elevator needs inspection! Do not stay here. Further, ‘Choice Hotel’s corporate gave the manager 2 opportunities to respond. He allegedly did not respond to them regarding this complaint. Nor has he yet responded to me directly.

Was average....declining

Last stop on a two-week road trip. In the six months since our last stay here, the property has declined. Aging rooms clean, but in need of updating. Toilet running throughout stay. Breakfast area dark (anybody notice that bulbs not working in light fixture?), and spoons were the size we have the preschool age grandson use at home. Breakfast selections ....well, the most gracious term is poor. Staff courteous, but seemingly disinterested. Doubt that we will stay here when next in the area

Glass around the pool from broken window

Do not book this hotel! We were there for a birthday pool party and my daughter cut her foot on a shard of glass from a broken window that was duct taped together from a bad storm that occured two weeks ago!!! As parents searched the area while we waited for the cleaning staff member to arrive, we found multiple other pieces of glass as well. No manager was on duty (GM is apparently on vacation for 2 weeks) and the woman at the front desk was rude and confrontational when she finally came back to the pool almost 45 minutes later when I asked her if she was a manager and told me she'd give me their number but she considered the situation resolved because they offered band-aids and said they would "call" an ambulance if I wanted. (No offer of cost of an ambulance was made. Just to call.) They then tried to make me feel guilty that they would shut the party down and that this was not a big deal. When I went back to the front desk while the kids were eating to inquire about when a manager would be available and asked a few questions about how and when the pool had been cleaned, she rudely stated that she'd seen "my friends and I here before and I should know it is clean." What?!? I've never stepped foot in this hotel before this day and I never will again.
